Occupational Therapy

Pediatric OT

For many children, occupational therapy is needed to assist in areas of difficulty such as:

  • Fine Motor: holding crayons, pencils and other small objects, stringing beads, manipulating toys, finger isolation, using clothing fasteners, etc.
  • Eye Hand Coordination: Scissor use, puzzles, ball skills, etc.
  • Visual Motor: Printing, drawing, forming shapes, coloring, etc.
  • Visual Perception: Sorting, matching, scanning, etc.
  • Self-Care: Dressing, feeding, using utensils, bathing, teeth brushing, etc.
  • Sensory Processing/Regulation: Vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile, auditory, visual, smell, interoception, etc.
  • Social Skills: Interacting and playing with others, following routines, etc.
  • Gross Motor: Strength, endurance, jumping, balance, bike riding, etc,
  • AND SO MUCH MORE

All interventions are done in a sensory-friendly, play-based, welcoming environment that focuses on their strengths. Our OT’s support social emotional awareness and development through play and encourage family involvement and training. We value parental and familial input and believe it is vital in developing goals that promote development and to help live their life to the fullest!

Adult OT

Adults diagnosed with a developmental disability as well as the neurodivergent community or those with various medical conditions often require occupational therapy to assist in gaining or regaining skills. Areas of need are often:

  • Skill Building: Acquisition of a skill such as cooking, handwriting, janitorial, reading.
  • Instrumental Activities of Daily Living: money management, telephone usage, shopping, cooking, medication management, and laundry to name a few.
  • Self-Care: dressing, bathing, eating/feeding, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene
  • Gross Motor: Strength, endurance, balance, running, etc.
  • AND SO MUCH MORE

All services and interventions for children and adults are completed in a collaborative, integrated manner, minimizing fragmented care and optimizing outcomes!
